LIVERPOOL INTERESTED IN ARSENAL PLAYER KIERAN GIBBS

The Reds are reported to have shown interest in arsenal’s player Kieran Gibbs and are ready to have him join them in the coming season.

Liverpool want to use Gibbs to solve their troublesome left-back spot troubles. Liverpool have had issues with the position for some time now with many fans wanting a change after current incumbent Alberto Moreno poor performance in the Europa League final against Sevilla who went on to lift the trophy.

The Gunners are reported to be ready to allow the transaction go through for the 26-year-old Gibbs this summer after he lost his place to Spanish left-back Nacho Monreal. Liverpool are also considering Leicester City’s teenage left-back Ben Chilwell, even though he has made just three senior appearances for the Premier League champions. The Reds are inclined to go with the Gibbs option as he is a more experienced alternative.

Gibbs has been capped 10 times by England, has spent his entire career to date at the Emirates apart from his brief stint at Norwich City in 2007/2008 when he turned out seven times. He has played more than 200 games for The Gunners and was among the 2014 FA Cup-winning side.

Liverpool also want to add a winger in Anwar El Ghazi who currently plays for Ajax, according to reports by Gianluca Di Marzio. The Reds will however have to fight off Crystal Palace and recently-relegated Aston Villa who are also keen on landing the player this summer. The 21-year old Dutch player is admired by Coach Jurgen Klopp as he is a hard-runner aside being 6ft 2in tall.

Liverpool are also set to offload Martin Skrtel with newly-promoted Middlesbrough already interested in signing the Slovakian. The Metro also reports that Besiktas and another unnamed Turkish club want the veteran defender even though he still has two years left on his current deal.
