Guardiola in for Suarez?

Reports in the Metro suggest that Bayern Munich are lining up a £40 million bid for Luis Suarez, following their announcement that Pep Guardiola will take charge of the club in at the end of the season.

However the Uruguayan, who has twenty goals in thirty appearances for the Reds so far this season, stated just two months ago whilst speaking to the clubs official website amid interest from Manchester City, that he is enjoying life on Merseyside and is keen to stay for many years to come. Koscielny calls Suarez a cheat

It would be fair to say that Luis Suarez has been at the brunt end of some fierce criticism over the past week, following his theatrical fall in Liverpool’s last game against Stoke. Even though pundits and fellow players have had a whole international break to try and get over the incident, it looks as though Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny is still struggling to do that after he branded the Uruguayan a cheat in a recent interview with the press. Down to just one Striker

Brendan Rodgers has received his first international casualty this week, following the news that Fabio Borini has sustained a fractured right foot while on duty with Italy Under-21s. It has not yet been established how long the 21-year-old will be out for, yet the news will be disastrous to Rodgers who now only has one fit striker on the books. Continue reading

In the papers: October 12

This week has certainly been mixed in terms of newspaper reports, with the press desperately attempting to fill up column inches as most of the players represent their countries during the international break. In the papers: 9th October

It would be fair to say that the press were incredibly quiet in relation to the Reds yesterday and few papers were able to conjure up many stories about the club. Most simply concentrated on Sunday’s draw with Stoke and following that slow news day, Tuesday is more of the same. A lot of outlets are merely reporting on the whole Luis Suarez simulation issue, although there is at least the odd transfer rumour thrown in there for supporters to mull over. Continue reading

Pulis calls for Suarez ban

There’s no doubt that Luis Suarez has accumulated his fair share of enemies since his move to Anfield and following Sunday’s draw against Stoke, it looks as though he has notched up another. Potters manager Tony Pulis is furious with the Uruguayan for an alleged dive and claimed that the situation was an “embarrassment”. Continue reading

Reds end pre-season on a roll

Following on from their convincing victory over FC Gomel several days ago, Liverpool ended their pre-season campaign in hugely positive fashion following a 3-1 win over Bayern Leverkusen. Moreover, Brendan Rodgers appears to have been given a huge headache following the victory, after Andy Carroll put in a fantastic performance to carry the club to victory. Continue reading

Suarez signs until 2016

While Luis Suarez may not have always made the headlines for the right reasons during his debut season at Anfield, there’s no doubt that he’s become one of Liverpool’s top performers. Bearing this in mind, Reds supporters will be delighted to hear that the player has signed a new long-term contract with the club, which will keep him on Merseyside until 2016. Continue reading
