Toure insists Reds are still title challengers

Liverpool defender Kolo Toure believes that the Reds are still in the title race despite dropping points against Aston Villa at the weekend, according to the Mail Online.

The 2-2 draw with Paul Lambert’s men kept the Merseyside club in the top four, though they are now eight points behind league leaders Arsenal, who they face at Anfield two weeks on Saturday.

Toure, who has clinched the title with both the Gunners and Manchester City, has said that ‘because every team cane lose points’, Liverpool cannot be ruled out.

Meanwhile, fellow centre-backs Tiago Ilori and Sebastian Coates are both set to secure loan moves away from Anfield until the end of the season.
Ilori has finalised his move to Spanish side Granada, after failing to break into the Reds first team following his move from Sporting in the summer.

The 20 year old has been named as an unused substitute on three occasions, but is yet to make his debut.

Coates has also not turned out for Brendan Rogers’ side so far this season, though he has been injured since August.
He is closing in on a temporary switch to Nacional in his native Uruguay where he will continue his rehabilitation.
