Rodgers says Adam Lallana will assess his options in the summer

Leicester City manager Brendan Rodgers has said that midfielder Adam Lallana will evaluate his options during this summer’s transfer window. The England international has been with Liverpool for the past five-and-a-half years but he has been fancied to leave them on a free transfer when his contract concludes in June.


As a result, a number of elite clubs including Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur, and Leicester City have been credited with an interest and Rodgers has openly hinted that the Foxes would make an approach for the former Southampton captain, he told: “Adam is a fantastic player and one I brought into Liverpool.”

Jurgen Klopp amazed with the progress made by Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has acknowledged that he has been amazed with the progress made by Trent Alexander-Arnold over the past few years. The right-sided defender made a slow beginning to his senior career where he was found out defensively but over the past couple of seasons, he has transformed into one of Europe’s most-sought after defenders.


Speaking in a press conference, Klopp was asked about any Reds player he has been surprised with and he mentioned the name of Alexander-Arnold, he told: “I have known Trent Alexander-Arnold since he was 17 years old. He was a big talent but we were not sure he could do it physically. Now he is a machine – so he is a big surprise.”

Matip aiming to win more trophies with Liverpool after contract extension

Cameroonian defender Joel Matip has stated his ambition of winning more trophies with Liverpool after penning a new long-term deal with the Merseyside outfit. The 28-year-old’s existing deal was due to expire at the end of the campaign but he has now penned a new contract until the summer of 2024.

Speaking to the club’s official website, he said: “This is one of the dreams that every young footballer or young kid has, but normally you know it probably won’t come true. Now I am part of this club and we won the Champions League, that’s something nobody can ever take away from you. I hope something like this will follow on again. Now we’ve seen how it is to win something and we want to have that feeling again. We’ve had it now, but we are focused to repeat it and repeat it.”

Andrew Robertson laughs off suggestions of unbeaten season with Liverpool

Liverpool defender Andrew Robertson has laughed off suggestions that the Reds could go unbeaten through the Premier League campaign. The Merseyside outfit were one point short of champions Manchester City last season but they are aiming to go one better this term to secure a maiden Premier League title.

Speaking to ESPN FC, Robertson said that the team are not thinking about going unbeaten through the campaign, considering there are bound to be struggles along the way, he told: “Not at all [thinking of an unbeaten season]. You know how tough this league is. It’s the most competitive it’s probably ever been. It would be great if we can, but the chances of going through a season unbeaten are very tough. We’ll try our best, but the chances of having a few bumps along the road is realistic. We need to be ready for that.”

Jurgen Klopp sends warning to Trent Alexander-Arnold

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has sent a warning to Trent Alexander-Arnold following his recent selection for the England national side. Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate recently made the decision to axe Manchester City’s Kyle Walker for the forthcoming internationals and that is likely to hand Alexander-Arnold with the right-back role with Kieran Trippier and Aaron Wan-Bissaka providing the back-up.

Speaking in a press conference, Klopp acknowledged that he has been surprised with the omission of Walker from the Three Lions squad. He added that Alexander-Arnold has been offered with a chance to cement the right-back spot, but needs to keep improving in order to hold onto the position on a long-term basis.

Jurgen Klopp needs to find ways of resting Liverpool front trio, says Warnock

Former Liverpool defender Stephen Warnock has said that Jurgen Klopp needs to offer rest to the trio of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino with some rest during the course of the current campaign. The trio managed at least 50 appearances each during the previous season and they have since participated for their respective nations in summer tournaments.

As such, there is the risk of potential burnout as the current season proceeds and Warnock has sent a warning over the same to the Reds boss, he told Sky Sports: “I think Jurgen probably knows that it is going to be a big ask, being in seven competitions at the start of the season. More games again, coming off the back of Copa America and the Africa Cup of Nations. He knows that the players are going to need a rest at some point. He’s spoken openly about finding time during the season to give Mane, Salah, and Firmino more rest because they’re going to need it.”

Jamie Carragher urges Jurgen Klopp to re-sign Philippe Coutinho

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has urged manager Jurgen Klopp to bring Philippe Coutinho back to Anfield this summer. The Brazil international left the Reds to join Barcelona at the midway stage of the 2017/18 campaign, but the move has failed to work out with him struggling for form in the Spanish La Liga.

Speaking to Pundit Arena, Carragher stated that the Reds can make some improvement in terms of the midfield options, considering the likes of Adam Lallana and Xherdan Shaqiri don’t match up to the quality possessed at Manchester City. He added that the club should make an attempt to re-sign Coutinho, whose future with the Blaugrana remains uncertain at the present point of time.

Philippe Coutinho’s agent speaks on the attacker’s future amid Liverpool link

The representative of Philippe Coutinho has indicated that Barcelona have no plans of sanctioning the attacker’s sale despite the speculation in the media. The Brazil international had a mixed campaign with the Blaugrana last term and he was particularly disappointing in the league where he managed just five goals and two assists.

Amidst this, the Blaugrana have been actively pursuing the services of Antoine Griezmann from Atletico Madrid and reports have emerged that they could sanction the sale of Coutinho to balance the books. Former Tottenham Hotspur star Darren Bent believes Liverpool may surprise everybody by making a marquee signing during this summer’s transfer window. The Reds could not end their long-wait for a maiden Premier League title last term but they still concluded the season on a strong note after securing the Champions League trophy for the sixth time in their history.

Speaking to The Star, Bent acknowledged that the Reds don’t need any major changes for the summer but they may surprise everyone with a big name signing. He added that Matthijs de Ligt could be an option for the Merseyside outfit, considering the teenager has a good bond with Virgil van Dijk in central defence for the Netherlands, he said: “They may go out and surprise everybody and go and get De Ligt, Virgil’s Dutch team-mate. If they can manage to pull that one off and those two can play together, that would be brilliant.”

Alisson Becker speaks on his best moment of the Champions League campaign

Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker has indicated that the Champions League save against Napoli at Anfield remain the best moment of his campaign.
