Aspas on target as Liverpool progress

Liverpool got their revenge on Oldham Athletic for knocking them out of the FA Cup last season by securing a 2-0 win over them at Anfield in the third round this time around.

Iago Aspas put the hosts in front with his first goal for the club nine minutes into the second half before an own goal from defender James Tarkowski put the result beyond doubt.

Rodgers may rotate for Cup clash

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers may choose to rotate his squad for Sunday afternoon’s visit of Oldham Athletic in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Reds had a less than ideal Christmas period, losing back to back fixtures against Manchester City and Chelsea in between home wins over Cardiff City and Hull City to leave them in fourth place in the Premier League, six points behind leaders Arsenal despite themselves being in top spot just eight days ago.

Liverpool reclaim top four spot with win over Hull

Liverpool returned to winning ways on New Year’s Day by beating Hull City 2-0 at Anfield, and moved back in to the top four of the Premier League in the process.

Daniel Agger put the Reds in front on thirty-six minutes before Luis Suarez doubled the hosts advantage in superb style with his twentieth goal of the season five minutes after the break.

Liverpool slip to fifth after defeat at Stamford Bridge

Liverpool have slipped to fifth place in the Premier League after losing 2-1 at Chelsea – their second defeat in three days.

The Reds took the lead on three minutes through Martin Skrtel, before goals from top scorer Eden Hazard and Samuel Eto’o swung the game in favour of the hosts before the break, and that is how the score remained.
