Brendan Rodgers will have his future decided in the next few days

This Premier League season which reached it’s end a few weeks ago was a disastrous one for Liverpool but especially for Brendan Rodgers who will now have a meeting with the chairman Tom Werner.

Liverpool was knocked out of the FA Cup after losing against Aston Villa on April 19. Brendan Rodgers also failed on pushing his team to a European spot as Liverpool had to settle with the 6th spot of the Premier League which does not grant them with any possibility of competing in either the Champions League or the Europa League.

Just by taking a look at how Liverpool finished this season, it’s pretty evident that the Premier League club was just happy to have this campaign finalized.

The last match of the season of Liverpool was played at the Britannia Stadium as Brendan Rodgers and his men faced off with Stoke City and lost 6-1.

Brendan Rodgers has a managerial contract with Liverpool that extends until 2018 and this means that the coach hailing from Northern Ireland should have his job secured until then but in the world of football certain things end sooner than initially expected.

The chairman of Liverpool, Tom Werner and the Fenway Sports Group executive Mike Gordon will be having meetings and discussions with Brendan Rodgers as the season is going to be reviewed. If those executives are not happy about what occurred in the season, there is a possibility that Brendan Rodgers could be leaving the club.

Carlo Ancelotti is one of the highest rated managers in the world and the Italian coach currently does not have a contract with any club. If Brendan Rodgers is indeed sacked after what was such an underwhelming season, Carlo Ancelotti is consistently being linked with the managerial job at Anfield and he might turn into the next coach if Rodgers is removed.
