Coutinho out for Saints clash

Liverpool will be looking to continue their superb Premier League form when the welcome Southampton to Anfield on Saturday afternoon.

The Reds have lost just once in their last sixteen league games, while three wins and a draw this term has fired them to first place in the division; another three points here will guarantee them top spot ahead of next weekend’s trip to Sunderland.

Daniel Sturridge is set to lead the line once more, with Luis Suarez serving the last match of his ten game suspension, though Philippe Coutinho will not get the chance to come up against his old coach after being ruled out for up to six weeks with a shoulder injury.

Iago Aspas is likely to come in for the Brazil international, while Kolo Toure could return to the starting line up having come on as a second half substitute in Monday evening’s 2-2 draw with Swansea.

Meanwhile, Liverpool legend Kenny Dalglish has told the Mirror that he he one day hopes to sit incognito among Reds fans in the Kop.

The Scot, who achieved great success first as a player, then in two spells as a manager with the club hopes to have the chance to one day do so “without any fanfare or without any PR”.
