CAN SALAH MAINTAIN FORM AT UNITED

Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah is one of the best players in the world on current form after his run of finding the back of the net in the last nine games in all competitions. This has led to the question of whether the Egyptian national team talisman can continue his red-hot form when Liverpool travel to Manchester to take on the Red Devils in the English top flight this weekend.

The game between Liverpool and Manchester United is undoubtedly the biggest on the English football calendar and Salah would be relishing the opportunity to make his mark at the expense of the Red Devils. Ahead of the game billed for the Theatre of Dreams on Sunday evening, Salah has scored in each of his last nine games over two competitions namely the Premier League and the Champions League. The former AS Roma, Chelsea and Fiorentina forward has 11 goals in those nine matches.

In Premier League terms, Salah has scored a goal each in the last six games and he’s the joint leading goalscorerin the competition alongside retired England international Jamie Vardy who plays his club football for reigning FA Cup winners Leicester City.

Salah is at the peak of his powers right now but he doesn’t have a very good record for Liverpool in the big meetings with the Red Devils. The Egyptian has scored just four goals against Manchester United in all competitions and he would be hoping to increase that tally in the latest meeting between the top two most successful clubs in England. On the brighter side, Salah has three goals in his last two games against Manchester United at the same Old Trafford match venue.

Liverpool talisman Salah scored twice as Manchester United knocked his team out of the FA Cup at the fourth round stage last season. His brace was not enough as Portugal international Bruno Fernandes came off the bench to score the winning goal via a free-kick to hand the Red Devils a 3-2 win and a place in the FA Cup fifth round.
