Kabak became a Liverpool player at the end of the last winter transfer window having joined the Reds on a six-month loan from German Bundesliga outfit Schalke 04 until this summer. Liverpool have the option to make the loan move permanent and it looks like the Reds would take that option as per the aforementioned report.

Liverpool boss JurgenKlopp has been impressed with theplayer in the past games and has made the decision to sign him permanently. The Reds will trigger the £18m clause required to turn the loan deal for the 21-year-old centre back into a permanent deal.

Kabak made a slow start to life at Anfield but his recent performances have been solid thereby allowing Brazilian player Fabinho to move back into midfield. Fabinho has played in defence for the majority of this season and his influence has been missed a great deal in midfield.

Turkish defender Kabak has been able to forge a potent centre back partnership with Nat Philips at the heart of the Reds defence. The pair has kept a clean sheet in the last two games in the league. Kabak and Philips were the centre back pairing when the Merseysiders beat Wolves 1-0 away from home with Portuguese international attacker Diogo Jota getting the only goal of the game just before the end of the first half.

Kabak and Philips then kept a clean sheet for a second successive league game at the Emirates Stadium. They were at the heart of the Liverpool defence when the Reds won 3-0 at the expense of their hosts, Arsenal. Diogo Jota entered into the fray in the second half and was the recipient of two goals in addition to the strike from Mohamed Salah.
