Reina suggests Reds return

Despite his days at the club having seemed all but over in recent months, Pepe Reina has opened the door on a return to Anfield once his loan with Napoli is complete, according to the Daily Star.

Manager Brendan Rodgers had previously stated that the goalkeeper would not be recalled to his first team for next season, but the Spain international has stated that he ‘is still a Liverpool player’.

However, former Reds boss Rafael Benitiez has revealed that there is a clause in which Napoli can make the 31 year old’s loan deal permanent if they wish.

Meanwhile, the Metro understands that the club have been offered the chance to sign Danish starlet Viktor Fischer from Ajax at the end of the season.

The 19 year old broke into the first team with the Eredivise champions last year, but has fallen down the pecking order this campaign.

With talk in the Netherlands suggesting that he has fallen out with members of the Ajax coaching staff, the Reds could make a move when the transfer window reopens in the summer.

Fischer has made sixty-eight senior appearances in all competitions for Frank de Boer’s side, scoring nineteen goals.
