LIVERPOOL REIGNITE INTEREST IN WATFORD ATTACKER

Sarr could join compatriot Sadio Mane at Liverpool if the six-time European champions are able to secure a transfer for the £40m-rated winger. Sarr and Mane are colleagues in the Senegalese senior national team.

Liverpool showed interest in Sarr shortly after Watford suffered relegation to the Championship last summer. He was one of the few players who shone for the Hornets consistently in his first season at the club on the back of his big money move from Rennes in the French top flight. Watford were said to have paid around £30m to sign him.

The Reds were not the only English club interested in Sarr last summer. Manchester United also had an interest in the player but the asking price quoted was too high for the Premier League teams keen on signing the player.

Sarr, 23 had to stay at Watford for the English Championship campaign last term. The Senegalese international was in fine form for the Hornets in the Championship last season and he played his part for Watford who are back in the Premier League after one season in the second tier. Sarr scored 13 goals plus 10 assists in 40 appearances for Watford in all competitions last season. The Hornets were one of the three teams promoted to the Premier League at the end of the latest English Championship campaign season alongside Brentford and Norwich City.

Liverpool have one of the best attacking trio in European football with the likes of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane. The attacking trio became a quartet when the Reds signed Portugal international Diogo Jota from Wolves last summer. Sarr faces a big battle to win a spot in the Liverpool attack potentially if he signs for the Merseyside club this summer.
