Adam Lallana claims his Club will do well

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana claims that there is a lot of belief at the club and he expects the Merseyside outfit to do well in the 2016-17 season.

Even though the Reds started the new campaign with a difficult away trip against Arsenal, it was seen as a great time to come up against the North London outfit since they were suffering from a large number of injuries especially in defence. Liverpool were able to unleash the entire attack and it is highly unsurprising that Arsenal struggled.

Jurgen Klopp already has an impressive strikeforce in his hands with the likes of Philippe Coutinho strengthened by the arrival of Sadio Mane.Even though the club were only able to achieve a 4-3 victory, Adam Lallana claims that it has given the team a lot of belief. This opening stage belief has the potential to help the club do well over the course of the entire campaign or at least up until Christmas. There will also be belief within Lallana, who has taken no time to get off the mark of the season. Philippe Coutinho and Sadio Mane were the most impressive players for Liverpool on Sunday.

JURGEN KLOPP OFFERED NEW DEAL AT LIVERPOOL

Head coach of Liverpool Jurgen Klopp has been offered a new deal by the club, according to reports.

The manager joined the club in the last campaign. The club decided to extend the deal they made with the tactician only nine months ago. Klopp, who is 49-years of age, earlier agreed to a deal to remain at the club till 2018 with the option of another year but the club wants to ward off any potential issues in future, especially based on this pedigree.

The German coach took The Reds to two finals in his last season, and could have finished much higher in the English Premier League if he had not sacrificed it for the sake of winning a title. Liverpool lost both finals, first to Manchester United in the League Cup, then to Sevilla in the Europa. There are reports that the fresh deal might not necessarily involve negotiating new financial terms but the club wants him to commit, especially based on his status and achievements. Klopp led his former club Borussia Dortmund to two Bundesliga titles and took them to a UCL final.

LIVERPOOL INTERESTED IN ARSENAL PLAYER KIERAN GIBBS

The Reds are reported to have shown interest in arsenal’s player Kieran Gibbs and are ready to have him join them in the coming season.

Liverpool want to use Gibbs to solve their troublesome left-back spot troubles. Liverpool have had issues with the position for some time now with many fans wanting a change after current incumbent Alberto Moreno poor performance in the Europa League final against Sevilla who went on to lift the trophy.

The Gunners are reported to be ready to allow the transaction go through for the 26-year-old Gibbs this summer after he lost his place to Spanish left-back Nacho Monreal. Liverpool are also considering Leicester City’s teenage left-back Ben Chilwell, even though he has made just three senior appearances for the Premier League champions. The Reds are inclined to go with the Gibbs option as he is a more experienced alternative.

Gibbs has been capped 10 times by England, has spent his entire career to date at the Emirates apart from his brief stint at Norwich City in 2007/2008 when he turned out seven times. He has played more than 200 games for The Gunners and was among the 2014 FA Cup-winning side.

Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the Europa League

Liverpool may have received a huge boost by overcoming Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals of the Europa League, but this victory came at the expense of an injury to Emre Can.

Even though signed by Brendan Rodgers, Can has become a key member of Jurgen Klopp’s revolution at Anfield. His versatility has been taken advantage of by Klopp. Liverpool have received news that the player has ruptured his ankle ligaments in the game against Dortmund. Given the lengthy recovery times involved in ligament injuries, it is almost sure that the player has played his last game of the campaign.

Furthermore, the club will be devastated especially given that Can was starting to settle quite convincingly. The 22-year-old walked gingerly and was taken off by the manager. He was seen leaving Anfield with protective gear for his foot, which raised suspicions that the injury may have been serious. Managing Jurgen Klopp said that the news so far not been great regarding the injury, but a full extent of the damage will be revealed in tomorrow’s scan. Klopp admitted that since there is very little time left in the campaign, it leaves Can with a potential season-ending injury. It remains to be seen if his good form earns him a place with the German national team at Euro 2016. Continue reading

Aquilani edging closer to a MLS move

At the age of 31, Alberto Aquilani has already reached the peak of his playing career and his pinnacle is over as well. The Italian midfielder is currently performing for the Portuguese club Sporting CP where he is serving as an off and on player who gets time on the pitch on certain games while there are others where he is simply not there.

Aquilani joined Sporting CP on August of 2015 but before this transfer was officially completed, he was rumoured of making a move to the MLS club Montreal Impact. The veteran midfielder was and might still be viewed by the American outfit as a player that can boost the midfield department in the squad of the Canadian manager Mauro Biello. If you fancy that he will make the move, you can use this bonus for sports betting to stick some money on it happening, and make a few easy pounds on the way.

Lets not forget, the Italian midfielder has also played in a few of the top clubs of the Serie A including: Roma, Juventus and AC Milan. Aquilani has the experience of playing in some of the biggest stages of the world and this is another one of the reasons of why he has attracted the attention of the MLS club.

Besides all of the previously mentioned Italian clubs, Aquilani also spent time playing in the Premier League as he performed in Liverpool and it was a fairly disappointing time in Anfield as he was acquired by the English club back in 2009 as a way to replace Xabi Alonso who had left to join Real Madrid but unfortunately for Liverpool, Aquilani failed to adapt and was offloaded after only 1 season.

Despite the dreadful period of time that Aquilani spent in Liverpool, it seems like there are still clubs interested in securing his services and Montreal Impact is one of those clubs and a move might actually occur depending if whether or not Sporting CP is interested in offloading Aquilani and if the Italian midfielder wants to make his way out of the Portuguese outfit or if he just wants to spend the last few years of his career in Sporting CP.

Benteke wants Klopp chance

Christian Benteke believes Jurgen Klopp has unfairly overlooked him particularly after December, with Klopp not starting with Benteke too many times lately.

The reason for that is believed to be that Benteke lacks the moving game which Klopp likes. But, according to Benteke, the perception about him not being Klopp’s type of player is wrong and he has got the game which is preferred in the Reds camp at the moment. Continue reading

Tough test at St. Mary’s for Liverpool

Consistency may have eluded Liverpool during a season which promised much yet failed to meet expectations, but as Jurgen Klopp’s team travel to St. Mary’s this weekend for a potentially tough test against a Southampton side who continue to make good progress under Ronald Koeman, there is still hope that Liverpool can enjoy a strong end to the season that may put them in contention for a top four finish.

Three straight Premier League victories have not only made the Reds one of the in-form teams alongside West Ham and Bournemouth, but also reignited hopes of making a late push to secure Champions League football next season. Continue reading
